My memory

I was thinking today of a soccer field not too far from my sister's house. I spent many afternoons there as a young girl. My brothers were all star athletes in high school. My Mom went to all their games. When I was little it meant I went too. I would load up my backpack with crayons, paper, a snack, my books, my doll or Barbies. I would love hanging out with the cheerleaders and playing by the side of the bleachers rocking my babies or dressing my Barbies.
I remember a friend of my brothers teasing me and asking me to prom. I was horrified at the thought. Gross! I don't like boys except my Dad and my brothers. I remember some of the cheerleaders laughing and asking if I wanted to get married anytime. Well, of course, how else would I become a Mom if I didn't get married????
Little did I know on the same soccer field by my sister's house, my future husband was meeting my brother. They became friends. College came for one. Europe for another. They hooked up again at a party. I met Hup. We chatted. I went to college and Europe. I prayed to St. Clare. I came home. I went to a bar. I saw Hup. I smiled. I knew. From a soccer field to today, our lives swirling until they connected.

Thank you God. For my life is better for knowing my Hup. He makes my life sweeter and brighter. He is my love. My Hup. My past, present and future.

Happy Birthday my love! I love to celebrate you. I am honored to be your wife and share this life with you.

May we in the next year bring home our girl, grab a soccer ball and enjoy a beautiful day at the soccer field. Us...together....forever...connecting
