My sister's youngest son remarked to me the other day that when we reminisce it usually is about stories regarding his older siblings and from before he was born. This post is about many of the memories I have regarding my precious godson.
1. When Mommy told me she thought a boy was missing from their family. She was right because God gave us you about 11 months later.
2. Mommy telling me on the phone she was going to have another baby. Uncle Hup was on the extension and still hasn't quite gotten his hearing back..I screamed so loud!!!!!!
3. Sitting with Mommy, who was breathing like Darth Vadar, while the monitor told us how much you were squirming and kicking...Mommy had to be on the couch a long time so you could grow and be born strong and healthy.
4. Praying that you wouldn't come to early...we didn't want you to be sick and we already loved you sooooooooooooo much...it makes me have tears in my eyes to remember how much we (Uncle Hup and I) worried for you and asked the Blessed Mother to take care of you.
5. That my class each day prayed a special Our Father for you to be healthy and stay inside Mommy for as long as needed!!
6. Flying home from Las Vegas with Uncle Hup b/c I couldn't wait to hear if you had been born. You were here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our miracle guy...on May 13th...my Fatima prayers from long ago still being heard...thank you God and Our Blessed Mother
7. Being SO MAD AT MOMMY AND DADDY...what was going to be your name? Why didn't they have a name??? Great Grandpa told Mommy don't call him again until you had a name...what was she doing on the couch for so many months...why didn't she think of a name all that time?????
8. My class cheering about you being born and making you cards..I passed out ALOT of candy that day and gave NO HOMEWORK...this was very unusual because I was so strict as a teacher
9. Being there at night when you came home from the hospital and holding your soft, sweet but BIG body...ten pounds of love for me...yeah!!!
10. Being your godmother with Uncle Gil and Great Grandpa reading to all of us the story of Joshua and Caleb in the promised land. There weren't any slushies in his story.
11. You having a great smile which took up your whole face.
12. You being so nosy when Mommy was feeding you..she would have to take you in the other room so you would eat.
13. Your big bald head resting on Uncle Hup's shoulder while we babysat and you slept.
14. Uncle Hup and I watching you for the weekend at nine months old-you laughed and eat so much we thought you would get sick. Uncle Hup got up in the middle of the night several times to cover you with a blanket. It can be very cold in Feb. in Chicago, and he worried about you not being warm enough.
15. Watching you get interested in Blue Clues, Harry Potter, music...just to name a few...you have a wonderful and creative imagination it is always fun to see what you are playing.
16. Watching Toy Story with you and putting on the CD so you could listen to music. You never wanted me to watch you dance and sing.
17. Taking you to see the movie Elf and having to shush you so many times b/c you were so excited to tell me what you liked in each scene.
18. Giving you tons and tons of kisses and making you laugh.
19. Hunting for your pacifiers and both being so relieved when we found them in your crib.
20. Not being able to find you one time and having a heart attack...I opened the garage door and there you were sitting on the step drinking out of beer bottles from your parent's recycling bin.
21. Seeing your excitement and talking to you about making your First Communion.
22. Laughing as you answered Josh and Sam's religious education questions when you are 4 grade levels below them. Smart guy. They would both get so MAD when you would answer. Also, you totally know your catechism like a pro. Are you going to be a priest????
23. Crying as you came down the aisle on your Communion Day. Beaming as you received Our Lord and being so proud at how reverent you were.
24. Your bedhead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
25. When you told me you how cool is was that Great Grandpa knew Freddie Mercury(lead singer of the band Queen) b/c they both had died.
Uncle Hup, Boo and I are always privileged to make memories with you. We love you. Thanks for being my favorite #2 godson.
